The Raze Collective is a new charity established to support and develop performance by LGBTQI+ (queer) artists. Our main activities at the moment involve managing the Queer Performers Network and the Queer Spaces Network events, and have a number of exciting activities in planning phases.
We are currently looking for new Trustees to fill a number of vacancies on our board!
The role of a Trustee is to act as a director for the activities for the Charity and to ensure that our work complies with Charity Commission Regulations. It is a voluntary position. More information about the formal role of a Trustee can be found here.
In practice, as we are a new charity, the Board of Trustees also have a big role in the day-to-day admin of the organisation. We're looking to recruit people who:
- Have a passion for supporting the LGBTQI+ performance community.
- Can attend Board meetings 4 times per year.
- Can give around 2-4 hours per week to supporting the organisation's work.
We are particularly looking for people with experience: within the queer performance community (including performers, but also directors, producers and writers etc); in communications and PR; with grant writing and fundraising within the arts; and in financial management. However, we would welcome applications from anyone who is interested in getting involved.
We will provide support and guidance in developing into the Trustee role, as well as many opportunities for networking, and getting involved in event and project management as well as fundraising and grant writing.
To apply, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with a short expression of interest, including a brief explanation of why you are suitable for the role. This can be in any format. Deadline for applications is 23rd March 2018.
